Four teams will compete in the conference’s inaugural season

Metuchen, NJ – The inaugural season of competition in the Southeast Conference of United Women’s Soccer (UWS) will kick off on May 28th. Four teams based in Georgia, Florida, and Louisiana make up the newly-formed conference.

Led by Owner Bernie Beale, and Head Coach Ron Apollon, the Atlanta Panthers placed second at the Chattanooga Femenil Soccer Cup last month in preparation for the upcoming season in the national pro-am league. As their club motto states, they are ready to “Rise up, Take Charge & Win.”

The 2019 undefeated WPSL national champions Pensacola FC are taking their talents to UWS. Led by Owner/Head Coach David Kemp, the club has placed their First Team and the Pensacola FC Academy team in the competitive Southeast Conference.

Based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana FC is ready to bring their talent to UWS. Led by Founder/Head Coach Orlando Cervantes, the organization’s first-ever signing is Colombian Women’s National Team player Oriánica Velásquez.

First up, Louisiana FC will travel east to play back to back against Pensacola FC on May 28th and Pensacola FC Academy on May 29th. Both games will be played at Ashton Brosnaham Stadium in Pensacola, FL. The following weekend, the Atlanta Panthers will host Pensacola FC on June 5th and the Pensacola FC Academy team on June 6th at Life University.

“The anticipation of the 2021 Season is at an all time high,” said Conference Commissioner Bernie Beale. “The SE Region with teams from Atlanta, Pensacola & Louisiana have signed talented players who are ready to take the field and play competitively in the UWS. Get ready to rise up & cheer for our amazing women!”
